Open call for young artists to participate in the VILNIUS LAB project

Send The Choir “Vilnius” invites young composers and interdisciplinary teams of artists (aged between 18 and 35 years) to submit their proposals for the project “Young Artists’ Laboratory for the Choir “Vilnius”.
The Choir “Vilnius” assumes the responsibility to provide three young artists or their teams with all necessary means for the implementation and presentation of their innovative works, including the remuneration of €1,000 and ensuing performances. Artists are encouraged to experiment with their sound vocabulary, to apply innovative multimedia and spatial formats in the search for new forms of artistic expression. Three works will be selected through competition and presented at contemporary music festivals in Lithuania in 2019.
Selection criteria:
*relevance of the proposed artistic project within the context of contemporary music;
*novelty and originality of artistic expression;
*professional approach to the implementation of artistic project given the specific nature of the choir;
*efficient and reasonable use of innovative means (and/or technologies) of musical and artistic expression;
*coherence of a proposed project.
The jury for submitted applications will consist of Artūras Dambrauskas, Principal Conductor of the Choir “Vilnius”, composer and mentor of the project Mārtiņš Viļums and interdisciplinary artist Arturas Bumšteinas. All applicants will receive written notifications about the results of selection by January 14, 2019.
